Morgantown W. Va. ---- Jeffrey Carroll finished with his first double-double of the year in a 77-60 loss to West Virginia in the WVU Coliseum on Saturday.
Carroll finished with 10 points, and tied his career high in rebounds with 11.
Oklahoma State forced tough shots throughout the afternoon and held the Mountaineers to 39 percent from the field compared to its 43 percent, but West Virginia took advantage from the free throw line to extend its lead in the second half.
In the first half, the Mountaineers jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, but the Cowboys cut the deficit to 9-5 at the first media timeout.
With 10:11 remaining until halftime, a Jeff Newberry three cut the Oklahoma State deficit to four, and a Carroll offensive rebound and layup the following possession cut the West Virginia lead to 19-16.
Oklahoma State trailed 38-26 at the half.
Eight of the nine Cowboys who saw action ended the game with figures in the scoring column.
Jevon Carter led the way for the Mountaineers, as he finished with 16 points and five rebounds.
Alongside Carroll, Oklahoma State also had solid performances from Jawun Evans and Newberry. Evans finished with 13 points, and Newberry finished with 12 points.
