54 NCAA Team National Championships
Oklahoma State has won 54 NCAA championships, ranking among the top ten in the country and by far the most in the Big 12 Conference. OSU's most recent national title came in 2025, when the Cowboy Golf program captured its 12th team title. In addition to NCAA trophies, the Cowgirl Equestrian team captured the 2022 NCEA National Championship, while Cowboy Football was recognized as the 1945 National Champions by the AFCA.January, March and June
Oklahoma State is the only current Big 12 institution to have made appearances in a New Year's Six bowl game, the men's basketball Final Four, the Men's College World Series and the Women's College World Series since the inception of the league.It Takes Two
Stillwater was the home of college basketball's first dynasty. Under Mr. Henry Iba, Oklahoma State (then known as Oklahoma A&M) became the first school to win consecutive NCAA championships in men's hoops. Oklahoma State wrestling is the winningest program in the history of college athletics with 34 NCAA team championships. The program has produced numerous Olympic medal winners and routinely crowns individual NCAA champions, including Wyatt Hendrickson and Dean Hamiti in 2025.Star Power
OSU's individual honors have included the college baseball player of the century in Pete Incaviglia, a college baseball player of the decade in Robin Ventura, one of the top 20 college basketball players of all-time in Bob Kurland (as selected by ESPN), a Heisman Trophy winner (Barry Sanders) and runner-up (Terry Miller) and numerous NCAA individual champions and Olympic gold medalists.Golf School
Oklahoma State's golf program won its 12th NCAA team championship in 2025 by defeating Virginia. Cowboy Golf has won a national title in each of the last seven decades, and has finished first or second at the NCAA Championships 29 times (12 titles, 17 second-place showings) and have finished in the top five 58 times. Matthew Wolf became the program's ninth individual national champion in 2019. The Cowgirl golf program has won 25 conference championships, including the 2023 Big 12 title, and is a perennial national title contender. Oklahoma State has finished as national runner-up twice at the NCAA Women's Golf Championships, most recently in 2021.Fast Pitch
Oklahoma State has appeared in the Women's College World Series 15 times - the most appearances by a current Big 12 school and ranking eighth nationally. The Cowgirl tennis program is a player on the national scene and at one point reeled off 11 consecutive conference championships. The Cowgirls advanced to the final round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships for the first time in 2016, becoming national runner-up. Cowgirl Soccer has become a familiar presence in the postseason with numerous NCAA tournament appearances and seven Big 12 Championships. The Cowgirls have reached the Elite Eight twice, coming within a game of the Women's College Cup in both 2010 and 2011.Tracking Success
OSU's track and field history includes hundreds of All-Americans and numerous individual national champions, including Taylor Roe, Sinclaire Johnson and Kaela Edwards capturing individual crowns over the last decade for the Cowgirl program. The Cowgirl basketball team won the 2012 Women's NIT and has made three runs to NCAA Sweet 16 in 2008, with its most recent Sweet 16 appearance coming in 2014.
