RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - Oklahoma State's women's golf team wrapped up play on Tuesday at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic with a 298 total during its third round at Trump International Golf Club to finish in third place.
The Cowgirls finished with a 22-over-par tally of 886 at the par-72, 6,219-yard layout. Alabama ran away from the field with its 872 total. The Crimson Tide's score was 11 shots better than runner-up Purdue.
OSU did produce the event's medalist as Caroline Hedwall captured her third career victory. The sophomore posted a 2-under 70 to finish at 209, 7-under, for the tournament.
Hedwall entered the day one shot behind Baylor's Hannah Burke, but made up the deficit with her second-straight round under par. She finished three shots clear of Burke and Georgia's Marta Silva to earn her first victory since winning the Golfweek Conference Challenge in September.
Victoria Park joined Hedwall in the top 10, tying for seventh place. One of four freshmen competing for the Cowgirls, Park closed with an even-par 72 to finish at 216.
Freshman Courtney McKim's third-round 76 tied her for 38th place at 231, while classmate Hillary Wood tied for 60th place at 238 after a final round of 80.
Freshman Eyglo Oskarsdottir posted an 82 on Tuesday to wrap up her collegiate debut with a 239 total and tied for 64th place.
The Cowgirls will return to action on Feb. 22 when they travel to Tucson, Ariz., for the Arizona Wildcat Invitational.
