TUCSON, Ariz. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team carded its second-straight 304 on Tuesday to finish in 10th place at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational at Arizona National Golf Club.
The Cowgirls finished with a 40-over total of 608 for the event, which was shortened to 36 holes from 54 holes due to inclement weather. Arizona State posted a 576 total to finish 12 shots clear of the field at the par-71, 6,166-yard layout.
OSU's Caroline Hedwall recorded her second-straight victory, erasing a two-shot deficit with the low round of the tournament. The sophomore closed with a 5-under 66 to earn her third victory of the year.
Hedwall claimed medalist honors at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in the squad's last outing and opened the year with a win at the Golfweek Conference Challenge.
Hedwall started on the eighth hole and got off to a solid start with birdies on two of her first seven holes. After recording her lone bogey of the day at the par-4 15th, she eagled the par-4 first and made back-to-back birdies at Nos. 4 and 5 to sew up her fourth career title.
Freshman Victoria Park tied for 27th after a round of 76 moved her to 151, while classmate Courtney McKim's 82 tied her for 67th at 160.
Freshman Eyglo Oskarsdottir posted an 80 and finished at 161, tying for 70th.
Freshman Hillary Wood closed with an 86 and tied for 91st place at 179.
The Cowgirls will resume their spring schedule on March 10 at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
