COLUMBIA, Mo. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team earned its first win of the season in dominating fashion Tuesday at the Johnie Imes Invitational at The Club at Old Hawthorne.
The Cowgirls fired a 4-under 284 to pull away from the field and finish as the lone squad under par at the par-72, 6,204-yard layout. OSU's 54-hole total of 863, 1-under, was well ahead of Colorado and Oklahoma, which tied for second place at 878.
OSU was equally dominant in the individual race with Courtney McKim and Victoria Park sharing medalist honors. The sophomore duo finished at 4-under 212 and a shot clear of OU's Ellen Mueller and Colorado's Jessica Wallace.
The victories were the first for both players.
McKim started the day tied for second place before carding a 1-under 71 to move into the top spot. The Raleigh, North Carolina native's previous best finish was a tie for 17th, which she earned on two occasions as a freshman.
For Park, she began the day tied for 11th place, but matched the school record with a final-round 65 to join McKim atop the leaderboard. After posting three-straight birdies to close out her second round on Monday, the Irvine, Calif., native continued her hot play on Tuesday. Park's front nine included birdies at the fourth, sixth and ninth holes to turn at 3-under 33. On her inward nine, Park carded birdies at Nos. 11, 15, 17 and 18 to earn victory No. 1. Park's 7-under day matched the previous low score recorded by Caroline Hedwall, Caroline Masson and Karin Sjödin.
Sophomore Hillary Wood earned her first career top 10, tying for ninth place at 4-over 220 after carding a closing 76.
Junior transfer Jocelyn Alford's third-round 72 moved her into sole possession of 14th place at 222, while freshman Josephine Janson posted a 77 to finish tied for 27th place at 227.
Sophomore Eyglo Oskarsdottir competed individually in the event and tied for 50th after carding an 81 to finish with a 233 total.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Oct. 11 when they travel to Tulsa, Okla., to take part in the Dale McNamara Invitational.
