Cowgirl Golf leads UNF Collegiate field entering final round

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Oklahoma State's women's golf began competition at the UNF Collegiate on Monday, ending the day in first place.
In 36 holes of play, the Cowgirls opened with a 296 (+8) and added a 295 (+7) in the second round, posting a 15-over 590 total.
OSU holds a 1-stroke lead over second-place Florida Gulf Coast and a 16-stroke lead over third-place Tulsa entering tomorrow's third and final round.
Freshman Yu-Chu Chen and junior Marta Silchenko led the Cowgirls, ending the day tied for second place on the individual leaderboard.
Chen opened with a first-round 74 (+2) before improving by 2 strokes in the second, carding a 72 (E) to move into podium position. In her first tournament of the spring season, Silchenko played to an ultra-consistent 73-73—146 (+2) scorecard, tying her teammate on the day.
Joining Chen and Silchenko in the individual Top 10 is Ellie Bushnell, who currently holds a share of seventh place. The junior played at 5-over-par on the day and was propelled by an opening even-par 72.
Grace Kilcrease is tied for 12th after going 76-74—150 (+6).
Competing as an individual, Summer Lee closed the day tied for 26th at 10-over.
Lucy Darr ended her day of competition at 13-over-par.
The Cowgirls return to action tomorrow, beginning at 8:20 a.m., for the third and final round of the UNF Collegiate. Oklahoma State will be paired with Florida Gulf Coast, Tulsa and Augusta.
