Cowgirls in first place entering final day of Collegiate Invitational

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Oklahoma State women's golf kicked off its Spring 2026 season at the Collegiate Invitational on Friday, finishing the event's opening day in first place.
The Collegiate Invitational is a 54-hole event, consisting of three 18-hole rounds. However, 27 holes are played daily, with the front and back nine of the second round split between Friday and Saturday.
The Cowgirls carded an even-par 288 in the first round. OSU trailed Tulsa by four strokes after the day's first 18 holes but stayed consistent over the next nine, going 1-over to end the day in first place.
Oklahoma State holds a five-stroke lead over a three-way tie for second place between Florida State, Tulsa and Virginia.
In her first event since Sept. 16, Lucy Darr capped off a first-round 69 (-3) with an eagle on the par-5 18th hole. Then, the sophomore caught fire in the second round, with three straight birdies leading her to a 34 (-2) and a tie for second place on the individual leaderboard.
Three Cowgirls (Kilcrease, Panya, Lee) join Darr in the top 20, all tied for 13th place at 1 stroke over par.
Grace Kilcrease carded the team's second-lowest round of the day, shooting a 2-under 70 in the first. The Augusta National Women's Amateur invitee added a 39 (+3) over her next 9 holes.
Tarapath Panya fired a 71 (-1) in the first round and a 38 (+2) to start the second.
Playing as an individual, Summer Lee became the fourth Cowgirl to shoot below par in the first round, going 1-under with a 71. The sophomore followed that up with a 2-over 38.
Freshman Yu-Chu Chen added a first-round 78 (+6) and played even-par golf over her next 9 holes, shooting a 36 on the front nine of the second round.
Ellie Bushnell ended the day at 8 strokes over par.
The Cowgirls return to action tomorrow morning to finish the second and third rounds of play at the Collegiate Invitational.
