The Basics
The No. 5 Oklahoma State equestrian team is set to defend its four consecutive Big 12 titles at TCU's Bear Creek Farms on March 28-29. The Cowgirls enter the tournament as the second seed and will face third-seeded Baylor Friday at 10 a.m., with the meet running simultaneously with the TCU-Fresno State matchup. Should the Cowgirls beat the Bears, they would then face the winner of the other matchup for a chance at five-straight Big 12 titles, a feat never accomplished by any team. OSU swept the regular season series against Baylor and have won 15-straight against the Bears. This weekend's Big 12 Championship will be streamed on ESPN+ and live scoring will be available during each meet on the Big 12's website.Â
About the Cowgirls                                                            Â
Head coach Larry Sanchez, in his 26th year at the helm, leads the Cowgirls alongside sixth-year assistant Laura Brainard, third-year assistant Carter Anderson, second-year assistant Alle Durkin and consultant Jody Brainard.
Conference Leaders                                                      Â
The Cowgirls went 4-2 against Big 12 opponents last season, including two wins on their way to the program's first ever conference championship four-peat, something no team in the Big 12 had previously accomplished.
An Oklahoma State Win Against Baylor Would...                                          Â
- Make it nine-straight appearances in the Big 12 Championship round
- Be its 16th-straight win against the Bears
- Be head coach Larry Sanchez' 40th win over Baylor
- Improve its season-record to 8-5
An Oklahoma State Win in the Big 12 Title Meet Would...    Â
- Make it five consecutive Big 12 titles, a feat never accomplished by any team
- Be its 11th Big 12 conference title
