Cowgirl Equestrian Advances to Big 12 Championship Meet

FORT WORTH, Texas —Oklahoma State's second-seeded equestrian team defeated third-seeded Baylor, 11-9, Friday in the semifinals of the Big 12 Championship to earn a spot in Saturday's title meet in Fort Worth.
With the win, the Cowgirls have now advanced to the final round for the ninth-straight season and will face one-seeded TCU on Saturday. The Cowgirls and Horned Frogs will face off for the conference title for a fifth consecutive season.
The win improved OSU to 8-5 on the season and 4-3 against conference opponents.
Scores were based on the average score of three judges.
With the two meets working interchangeably, OSU's day started with Reining where the Cowgirls claimed a 4-1 advantage. Tristan Bagby and Ava Bush led the way with meet-high 71 scores. For Bagby, this is her fifth win of the season, while Bush now has six.
Quincee Clark scored the first point of the day, winning 69.33-68.17. Emma Filiatreau scored the final point in the event with a 70.5 score. Clark and Filiatreau scored their respective ninth wins of the season.
The Cowgirls dropped the team score in Flat by a 3-2 margin. Hannah Dodd and Riley Hogan claimed the two points, with Hogan earning an 89, half a point below her career high. Hogan earned her 10th win of the season for her second consecutive double-digit win season in Flat.
The meet proceeded with Horsemanship, where the Cowgirls took a narrow win, 3-2. OSU's Horsemanship squad has claimed the team advantage 10 times this season, which leads all OSU events this year. June Roberson led the Cowgirls with a meet-high 75.83 average score. Roberson now has 10 wins this season for her second consecutive double-digit win season.
Bella D'Onofrio scored the first point for the Cowgirls. She recorded an average score of 74.83, making it the ninth time this season she has scored at least a 74. Alana Stanton secured the event for OSU, defeating Baylor's Carley Rutledge, 73.17-72.
The meet concluded with Fences, where the Cowgirls lost the team advantage, 3-2. Riley Hogan scored the first point, scoring a meet-high 87.67 score. Her win marks her tenth win in Fences this year, her third consecutive double-digit win season.
Emma Hechtman earned the final point for the Cowgirls, sealing the win. Hechtman scored an 80, defeating Madison Mitchell for her third-straight victory this season. The freshman now has five wins on the year.
The Big 12 title meet is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday.
