Cowboy Tennis Hosts Rice in Midweek Contest

The Basics
Oklahoma State's men's tennis team aims to win its fifth straight match as it takes on Rice at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the Greenwood Tennis Center. Oklahoma State has outscored its opponents 19-6 during its current win streak. OSU and Rice have not met since 2010. The Cowboys are 5-2 all-time against the Owls.

Meet the Cowboys
Graduate student Isaac Becroft leads the Cowboys. The captain is one of five returning players from last year's 18-10 squad that went to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Other returners include Alessio Basile, Francisco Pini, Derek Pham, and Ty Wunderlich. Head Coach Dustin Taylor brought in six freshmen in this year's recruiting class, including Tennessee transfer Nicolas Kobelt, Ian Bracks, Thomas Gadecki, Matei Onofrei, Ben Stecker, and Finn Hopfe.

As of March 16, the Cowboys checked in at No. 5 in the Big 12 Preseason Coaches Poll after finishing fourth in the Big 12 tournament in the 2024 season. Isaac Becroft, currently 5-4 on the season, is the lone ranked singles player coming in at No. 67. The Cowboy tandem of Alessio Basile and Nicolas Kobelt checked in at No. 46 in doubles. The duo is 5-3 overall and 1-0 against ranked opponents.

Phenomenal Pham
Pham has won seven-straight singles matches for the Cowboys, leading the team with nine overall wins. The sophomore from New Zealand has only dropped three sets during his seven-match streak.
