Cowgirl Golf Rounds Out Play in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Oklahoma State women's golf wrapped up play at the Valspar Augusta Invitational in 11th on Sunday, while Maddison Hinson-Tolchard and Thitaporn Saithip notched top-20 placements in Augusta.
The Cowgirls finished two rounds at Forest Hills Golf Club on Sunday, resuming round-two play thru 6-11 holes after postponing due to darkness on Friday and missing Saturday due to rain.
Oklahoma State shot a 3-over 291 in the second round before exiting play with a 304. The Cowgirls finished the three-round tournament 18-over par with rounds of 287-291-304 – 882. Ole Miss took home the team title at the 17-team field, shooting an 8-under 856, while Mirabel Ting of Florida State took individual honors 7-under par with rounds of 68-74–67 – 209.
Hinson-Tolchard made solid opening and closing marks in Augusta, carding rounds of 68, 76 and 71 to finish 1-under 215 and slot tied for 14th in the 93-player field.
With 11 birdies in the tournament and 351 in her career, Hinson-Tolchard is one birdie away from tying her former teammate, Han-Hsuan Yu, for third on OSU's 30-year record book at 352. She will return to Augusta, Georgia, from April 3-6 to compete at the prestigious Augusta National Women's Amateur at Champions Retreat Golf Club and Augusta National.
Saithip entered the final 18 in the top five, ultimately ending tied for 17th even to the course at 70-70-76 – 216. The sophomore tied for fifth in the field with 13 birdies en route to her best placement of the season.
Ellie Bushnell shot rounds of 71 and 70 to begin play in Augusta, completing play with an 82 to tie for 47th.
Marta Silchenko finished the second round 3-over 75 and signed an 80 to close action in Augusta tied for 81st. Angelica Pfefferkorn tied for 87th with rounds of 80 and 77 on Sunday.
Competing as an individual, Sammie Miller finished in 90th.
Next up, the Cowgirls travel to Norman to face Oklahoma in the first Bedlam Cup since 2017. This match-play competition, which includes best ball and singles play, will be held at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club on Friday, March 22. The event is free to the public.
