November 23, 2024 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's and women's cross country competed at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Madison, Wis., on Saturday morning, with Brian Musau and Denis Kipngetich each picking up their second straight All-America honors on the grass.
Musau was the first Cowboy across the line as he improved upon his eighth-place finish in 2023 with a fifth-place finish Saturday. The Cowboy sophomore completes an incredible second season in the orange and black that included a Big 12 individual championship, All-Region and All-America honors for the second consecutive season.
Right behind Musau was Kipngetich, who finished 11th overall as he also earned All-America honors for the second time in as many seasons as a Cowboy. Kipngetich wraps up a sophomore season in which he won the Cowboy Jamboree and NCAA Midwest Regional meets and earned All-Big 12 honors.
The pair also became the eighth and ninth two-time cross country All-Americans in program history, joining Sture Landqvist (1954-55), John Halberstadt (1972-73), Patrick Kiptum (1994-95), John Kosgei (2008-09), Shadrack Kipchirchir (2012-13) and Fouad Messaoudi (2022-23). Overall, the Cowboys placed eighth as a team with 256 points on the day. On the women's side, the Cowgirls finished 27th overall as freshman Victoria Lagat led the way with a 72nd-place finish.
