Oklahoma State Cross Country announces 2026 schedule

STILLWATER – The Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course will play host to a quartet of meets during the 2026 season, including the return of the Big 12 Championships at home for the first time since 2021.
The Cowboys and Cowgirls will open the 2026 campaign Sept. 5 at the Cowboy Preview in Stillwater before hosting the 88th annual Cowboy Jamboree on Sept. 26. In the past five seasons, four different Cowboys and Cowgirls have taken the top step of the podium at the Jamboree, including four individual sweeps:
2021: Isai Rodriguez and Taylor Roe
2022: Alex Maier and Natalie Cook
2023: Denis Kipngetich and Billah Jepkirui
2024: Brian Musau
2025: Denis Kipngetich and Isca Chelangat
OSU returns to the grass nearly a month later with the fourth edition of the Weis-Crockett Invitational on Oct. 17, which honors the late Dick Weis (OSU Head Coach from 1983-2009) and former volunteer assistant/OSU professor Jerry Crockett.
Postseason play kicks off on Halloween as the Cowboys and Cowgirls will host the Big 12 Cross Country Championships for the first time in five years, with the OSU men having claimed five of the past six team titles. Individually, Musau has won three consecutive Big 12 titles and is looking to become the first man in conference history to win four straight.
OSU will then head to Ames, Iowa, on Nov. 13 for the NCAA Midwest Regionals, where the Cowboys and Cowgirls have swept the team titles for each of the past three seasons. Individually, Kipngetich has won three straight regional titles, the first Cowboy in program history to do so.
The season wraps up at the prestigious LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Course in Terre Haute, Indiana, which will play host to the NCAA Championships on Nov. 21.
The Cowboys return a pair of three-time All-Americans in Kipngetich and Musau, both of whom have placed in the top 11 at the NCAA Championships for three consecutive seasons, the only returners in the NCAA that can claim the feat. Additionally, 2025 All-American Adisu Guadie also returns to the fold after placing 12th at the national meet last season. The trio alongside graduating seniors Fouad Messaoudi and Ryan Schoppe helped the Cowboys secure the program's sixth NCAA title with the second-best winning score in the last 20 years, behind only OSU's own 2023 championship squad.
On the women's side, 2023 All-American Billah Jepkirui returns for her senior season after arguably the best track season of her career. On the grass, Jepkirui was the 2023 Cowboy Jamboree and NCAA Midwest Regional Champion and leads a Cowgirl squad that placed 12th at the NCAA Championships in 2025.
The Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course was opened in 2019 and is named after Don and Shellie Greiner, as well as Don's father Ken, who have pledged a significant gift to Oklahoma State Athletics.
