Five Cowboy Cross Country Athletes Named To USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

STILLWATER – Eight Oklahoma State men's and women's cross country athletes were named to the 2021 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, the organization announced Thursday.
Cowboy runners Shea Foster, Alex Maier, Isai Rodriguez, Ryan Schoppe and Ryan Smeeton were all honored while Molly Born, Gabby Hentemann and Taylor Roe represent the Cowgirls on the team.
This is the fourth honor for Smeeton overall, while Rodriguez picked up his third All-Academic nomination, with Born, Maier and Schoppe all picking up their second career honor. Foster, Roe and Hentemann all collected their first career nominations with Foster doing so in just his first year in the program.
To qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.
In addition to the eight individuals overall, both the men's and women's teams were also named as All-Academic Teams, with the Cowgirls sporting an impressive 3.594 GPA with the Cowboys just behind with a cumulative 3.208 GPA.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
