Cowboy Tennis Opens Big 12 Play Against Texas

Stillwater, Okla. - Oklahoma State's 26th-ranked men's tennis team will open conference play on Friday when it to hosts sixth-ranked Texas at 3:30 p.m. at the Greenwood Tennis Center
On Tuesday, the Cowboys returned to the win column after sweeping Omaha, 7-0. This win marked the fourth consecutive at home for the Pokes and moved their record to 4-2 on the season under interim head coach Scoville Jenkins.
Notably, senior Matej Vocel has been formidable at the No. 1 spot, sporting an undefeated record at home and a 4-1 mark overall.  Having teamed with junior Emile Hudd in doubles action, the duo has recorded a 3-2 record on the season at the No. 1 spot. The duo impressively defeated No. 29 Connor Di Marco and Kody Pearson of Tulsa earlier this season, 6-4.
Texas holds a 9-3 record on the season, with its last matchup being a 4-3 road victory against Tulane. The Longhorns own a win over No. 1 Southern California, taking down the Trojans, 4-3, at the ITA National Indoor Championships.Â
Texas leads the overall series against the Pokes, 29-4. The last meeting between the teams was in 2019 in Stillwater where the Longhorns took the match, 4-3. OSU's last recorded victory was in 2017 at home, a 4-2 win.Â
