Cowgirls Celebrate After Tournament Win In Texas

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Top-ranked Oklahoma State women's golf earned the individual and team titles on Monday at the Jim West Challenge at the Kissing Tree Golf Club. The victory earned OSU its third-straight team tournament win and was Caley McGinty's second-straight individual title.

The win marked the fifth time in program history the Cowgirls have won three-straight tournaments and was the first time they have opened a season with three-straight victories.

OSU shot a 278 in the final round at the par-72, 6,287-yard course on its way to shattering the course record of 28-under, set by Ole Miss in 2019, as well as the tournament record of 33-under notched by Duke in 2017.

OSU's 39-under broke the program record for lowest 54-hole total in school history.

The Cowgirls finished the tournament 39-under as a team, seven strokes ahead of TCU in second and 23 strokes better than Miami in third place.

"We're very proud of the way they played this week," head coach Greg Robertson said. "Everyone contributed to win with 12 out of the 15 rounds at par or better. They have been very impressive through these first three tournaments. We have a quick turnaround before leaving on Friday for the East Lake Cup, which is our last event of the fall. We're looking forward to a good few day of practice before we get back at it again."

McGinty paced OSU with a 69 in the final round to finish 15-under and earned her second individual title in three tournament appearances as a Cowgirl. Her 54-hole score tied the program low individual score.

Isabella Fierro also shot a 69 in the final round to close the tournament with a third-place finish at 11-under. Rina Tatematsu shot a 70 on the day to finish tied for tenth.

Maddison Hinson-Tolchard tied for 23rd at 2-under after posting a 74 in the final round. Hailey Jones rounded out the Cowgirl lineup tied for 34^th at 2-over.

Caley McGinty tied the lowest 54-hole total in school history, shooting a 201 this week. She tied Maja Stark and teammate Isabella Fierro for the record.
Oklahoma State took home its third-straight tournament title for the fifth time in program history. It was the first time the Cowgirls have won three straight in back-to-back years.
McGinty paced the field as she recorded the most birdies in the tournament with 19.
The Cowgirls' 54-hole score total shattered the previous program low of 830 by five strokes.
McGinty set the tournament and course record at -15 (201).
