Cowboy Duo Wins The Arkansas Futures Event

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Juniors Matej Vocel and Dominik Kellovsky completed their run in the Arkansas Futures tournament by being crowned the doubles champions over Nick Chappell and Reese Stalder in the final match on Saturday.
Vocel and Kellovsky fell behind early in the match to Chappell and Stalder by dropping the first set. However, the Cowboy duo would rally to win back-to-back sets to claim the title, 1-6, 6-3, 13-11.
The Cowboy tandem won four consecutive matches to take first place in the tournament. Vocel and Kellovsky had to take down the No. 1 seed in the tournament, Alexander Cozbinov and Takuto Niki, in the first round to advance to the quarterfinals, 7-5, 6-1. In the quarterfinals, the duo defeated Sherif Abohabaga and Kiranpal Pannu, 6-0, 4-6, 10-7. The semifinal match was won in straight sets against John Harrison Richmond and Henrik Wiersholm, 6-3, 6-3.
The Cowboys will pick up play again when they compete in the ITA Oracle Masters tournament on September 26.
