OSU’s Hudd Clinches Match at Northwestern

EVANSTON, ILL. – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team returned to its winning ways Thursday night as it defeated Northwestern, 4-2, at the Combe Tennis Center.
OSU recorded its first doubles win in five matches, as the pairs of Emile Hudd and Luke Hammond, as well as Brady Draheim and Mathieu Scaglia earned doubles victories.
Hammond and Hudd defeated NU's Dominik Stary and Chris Ephron, 6-3, while Draheim and Scaglia beat Antonioni Fasano and Trice Pickens 7-6.
In singles action, Scaglia dominated Fasano, 6-2, 6-1, to give the Pokes a quick 2-0 match lead.
Northwestern responded with two singles points, as Pickens defeated Draheim, 7-5, 6-4, and Stary bested Maxim Tybar, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. The Wildcats briefly tied the match at 2.
The Pokes reclaimed the lead when Matej Vocel took care of Nick Brookes on court one, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, making the score, 3-2.
On court six, Emile Hudd took a second-set tiebreak over Northwestern's Jason Seidman, 6-3, 7-6, to clinch the match for the Cowboys.
OSU improved its all-time series lead to 6-0 against Northwestern.
The Cowboys are back in action Saturday at noon when they take on the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison.
