Cowgirl Golf Bound For Tempe, PING/ASU Invitational
March 22, 2018 | Cowgirl Golf
TEMPE, Ariz. – Fresh off a second place finish in Hawaii, the Oklahoma State women's golf team is headed to Tempe, Arizona for the PING/ASU Invitational, which tees off Friday at the ASU Karsten Golf Course.
The Cowgirls check in at No. 15 in this week's Golfweek national rankings, and will take on the best of the Pac-12, including No. 13 Arizona State, No. 16 Washington, No. 18 Arizona and No. 19 Colorado.
The 6,223-yard ASU Karsten Golf Course is named in honor of PING founder Karsten Solheim, whose name is also immortalized in OSU's own Karsten Creek Golf Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The Cowgirls have won this event twice, most recently in 2009, and have had two individual champions – Eva Dahllof in 1988 and Robin Hood in 1987.
Last week, four Cowgirls earned top-15 finishes in OSU's last outing, the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawaii. Chih-Min Chen finished tied for fourth, Emma Broze tied for 11th, while Alexis Sadeghy and Stephanie Astrup both tied for 13th place, which helped the Cowgirls earn a second-place finish.
The Cowgirls will tee off the first of three rounds at 10 a.m. Friday.
