Cowgirl Golf In Fourth After 18 Holes At PING/ASU Invite

TEMPE, Ariz – Thanks to strong opening rounds from senior Alexis Sadeghy and freshman Stephanie Astrup, the No. 15 Oklahoma State women's golf team finished the opening round of play in fourth place at the PING/ASU Invitational at the ASU Karsten Golf Course.
Sadeghy led the way for OSU with a 1-under par 71 and sits in a tie for ninth place on the leaderboard. Sadeghy was also able to contribute five birdies to the teams total. Astrup knocked in four birdies herself and also carded a 1-under par.
Following one stroke behind Sadeghy and Astrup, junior Chih-Min Chen knocked in six birdies to help her finish even par. Chen is tied for 14th going into the second round, as is senior Emma Broze.
Senior Kenzie Neisen shot 5-over par on the opening day and will enter the second round play tied for 51st place.
Participating as an individual, freshman Emma Whitaker scored 6-over par and sits placed for 56th on the player leaderboard.
The Cowgirls will take on the second round on Saturday.
