Broze, Cowgirl Golf Atop Leaderboard With 18 To Play In Tempe

TEMPE, Ariz. – Emma Broze tied her career low round to vault herself and the Oklahoma State women's golf team to the top of the leaderboard with 18 holes to play at the PING/ASU Invitational at the ASU Karsten Golf Course.

The senior recorded seven birdies and an eagle to finish the second round 5-under 67, which is her best round since 2015. Broze is 5-under for the event and will enter the final round with a one stroke lead.

After 36 holes, the Cowgirls are the only team in the tournament to be in both the top-5 for holes pared and holes birdied. OSU jumped Washington, Georgia and Arizona on the leaderboard after the second round and will go into the final round with a four-stroke lead over Washington.

Fellow senior Kenzie Neisen was able to drop in four birdies on the day to help her post a score of 2-under par and climb 25 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 26th.

Cowgirls Chih-Min Chen and Stephanie Astrup both shot 1-over par in their second round of play. Astrup will enter the third day tied for 15th place, while Chen will go in tied for 19th place.

Senior Alexis Sadeghy shot 8-over par and sits in a tie for 47th going into the last round.

Playing as an individual, freshman Emma Whitaker recorded her first collegiate eagle on the ninth hole. Whitaker scored 2-over par on the day and is tied for 50th place.

The Cowgirls will wrap up the tournament's last 18 holes at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
