Cowgirl Golf Hoping History Repeats At Schooner Classic In Norman

NORMAN, Okla. – The Oklahoma State women's golf team is hoping history repeats itself at the Schooner Fall Classic this weekend.
The last time OSU competed at this event in 2013, the Cowgirls brought a trophy back to Stillwater with a six-stroke victory over rival Oklahoma – and it came on a quick four-day turnaround from a tournament in Chicago.
This week, OSU is just three days removed from a solid fourth-place finish at the Dick McGuire Invitational in New Mexico, and will regroup in Norman this weekend to take on a top-notch field that includes the Sooners, as well as Texas A&M, Florida State, Notre Dame, Kansas, Kansas State and the reigning champion Bulldogs of Mississippi State.
"This is a unique situation playing back-to-back tournaments like this," said head coach Courtney Jones. "We decided to take the same lineup to Norman since we had a good performance last weekend. This stretch will really give us a chance to compete and see what we need to work on going forward. "
The Schooner Classic will tee off on Saturday from the 5,901-yard par-71 course at Belmar Golf Club. The teams will play 18 holes on Saturday, Sunday and Monday beginning at 9 a.m.
