Cowgirls Lead In Dallas

DALLAS, Texas - Oklahoma State's women's golf team wrapped up the first day of play at the SMU/DAC Invitational on Friday in first place after posting a 579 total at Dallas Athletic Club.
The Cowgirls' 3-over score put them seven shots clear of UC Davis at the par-72, 6,345-yard layout. OSU opened with a 293 during its morning round to stand in second place before surging to the top spot on the leaderboard with a 2-under 286 during afternoon play.
Purdue's Aurora Kan held the top spot in the individual race by two strokes after posting a 3-under 141 score with rounds of 71 and 70.
OSU finished the day with three players among the top 10 with freshman Emma Broze leading the way.
Broze carded rounds of 72 and 71 to stand in a tie for second place at 143.
Freshman Kenzie Neisen signed for rounds of 72 and 73 to stand alone in fifth place at 145, while classmate Maddie McCrary came in a stroke back and tied for sixth with rounds of 74 and 72.
Sophomore Isabella Deilert rallied after opening with an 81 to card a 70 and move up 34 spots into a tie for 28th at 151.
Sophomore Linnea Johansson rounded out the OSU starting five with a 153 total that included rounds of 75 and 78 to come in tied for 38th place.
The Cowgirls will get their final round underway tomorrow at 8 a.m. and will be grouped with UC Davis and Purdue. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
