Cowgirls Victorious In Dallas

DALLAS, Texas - Oklahoma State's women's golf team posted an 8-over total of 296 on Saturday to wrap up its second victory of the season at the SMU/DAC Invitational at Dallas Athletic Club.
The Cowgirls finished at 875, 11-over par, at the par-72, 6,345-yard layout and eight shots ahead of Purdue in the team race. UC Davis and Texas Tech shared third at 888. OSU won the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Hawaii last month for its first victory of the spring. Additionally, it marks the second time in three years the Cowgirls have won the event in Dallas after claiming victory in 2013.
Purdue's August Kim defeated Kansas' Yupaporn Kawinpakorn on the second playoff hole to claim medalist honors. The two players tied for first at 1-under 215.
A pair of freshmen fueled OSU's victory with Maddie McCrary and Emma Broze both finishing in the top five. McCrary closed with a 2-under 70 to finish alone in third place at 216, while Broze was fifth at 2-over 218 after closing with a 75.
Freshman Kenzie Neisen notched a top-20 finish, posting an 80 to finish at 225 and tied for 20th place.
Sophomore Linnea Johansson posted her low round of the event on Saturday, using a 73 to finish at 226 and tied for 23rd place.
Sophomore Isabella Deilert closed with a 78 to stand at 229 and tied for 35th place.
Competing individually, freshman Alexis Sadeghy tied for 58th place after signing for a 78, which gave her a 236 total.
The Cowgirls will return to action on April 24 when they travel to San Antonio, Texas for the Big 12 Championship.
