Cowgirls Tied For Fifth At Landfall

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team opened play at The Landfall Tradition on Friday with a 290 score to stand in a tie for fifth place at Country Club of Landfall.
The Cowgirls' 2-over tally tied them with Notre Dame and Alabama at the par-72, 6,149-yard layout. Purdue jumped in front after day one with a 5-under 283.
South Carolina's Nanna Madsen fired a 6-under 66 to lead the individual race by a stroke.
Cowgirl freshman Maddie McCrary opened play with a 70 to lead the OSU starting five and finish the day tied for 10th. After an opening bogey, McCrary tallied birdies at Nos. 3 and 5 to make the turn at 1-under 35. She followed a birdie at the 12th with a bogey at the 14th before carding back-to-back birdies at the 16th and 17th. McCrary closed her round with a bogey at the 18th to come in with a 1-under 35 on her inward nine.
Sophomore Isabella Deilert finished a stroke back of her teammate, posting a 71 to end play tied for 14th place.
Freshman Kenzie Neisen carded a 74 to come in tied for 36th place, while sophomore Linnea Johansson's 75 tied her for 53rd place.
Freshman Alexis Sadeghy posted an 81 to tie for 90th place.
The Cowgirls will begin their second round at 8:30 a.m. (EST) and will be grouped with North Carolina and Tennessee.
