Cowgirls Tie For Fourth In Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team carded its second consecutive 292 on Sunday to finish in a tie for fourth place at the SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational at Mark Bostick Golf Course.
The Cowgirls finished with a 54-hole total of 877, 37-over par, to wrap up play tied with Virginia at the par-70, 6,002-yard layout. Alabama outlasted Oklahoma for a three-shot victory, finishing with an 865 team total.
The Sooners did produce the event's individual medalist in Chirapat Jao-Javanil, who carded three consecutive sub-70 scores for a 4-under 206 total. She finished five shots clear of the field.
OSU senior Kelsey Vines posted a top-10 finish, tying for ninth place at 217 after closing with a 2-over 72. The nation's top-ranked player has now finished in the top 10 in six consecutive events and seven of her eight starts overall this season.
Junior Josephine Janson bounced back from an 80 during her second round with a 73 to move into a tie for 24th place at 222.
Janson was joined in the group at 222 by classmate Jayde Panos. The junior posted the squad's low round of the day with a 71.
Freshman Julie Yang came in tied for 32nd place after carding a 76 and finishing at 224.
Junior Lauren Falley rounded out the Cowgirl starting five, tying for 46th place at 228 after finishing with a 79.
The Cowgirls will resume their spring slate on April 5 when they begin play at the SMU Invitational in Dallas, Texas.
