Cowgirls Tied For First At Schooner Fall Classic

NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team opened play on Saturday at the inaugural Schooner Fall Classic with a 293 to stand in a tie with Arizona State at Belmar Golf Club.
The Cowgirls finished the day with a 13-over total, knotting them with ASU and putting them two shots clear of LSU.
On a cool, windy day, OSU's Jayde Panos grabbed the individual lead with a 3-under 67. The senior put together a bogey-free round that included birdies at the eighth and ninth to turn at 2-under 34. Her inward nine included a birdie at the 13th to get to 3-under for the day.
Fellow senior Lauren Falley posted a 74 to finish in a tie for 18th place, while freshman Isabella Deilert came in a stroke back with a 75 to stand in 25th place.
Freshman Casie Cathrea and senior Amy Ruengmateekhun each signed for 77s to finish the day tied for 37th place.
The Cowgirls will begin their second round at 9:50 a.m. tomorrow and will be grouped with Arizona State and LSU.
