Cowboy Tennis Falls to No. 16 San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Oklahoma State men's tennis team fell to No. 16 San Diego, 4-0, on Friday in the semifinals of the San Diego Hilton Mission Valley Spring Classic.
OSU and San Diego only played singles matches, with USD winning the first four to improve to 9-4 on the year, while the Cowboys fall to 5-6.
Senior Vlad Bondarenko fought a tough match with No. 60 Nikola Bubic. After dropping the first set, 6-3, Bondarenko responded by winning the second set, 6-4, but Bubnic rebounded and took the decisive set, 6-3.
Sophomore Rifat Biktyakov faced off against No. 106 Patrick Pohlmann, falling in consecutive sets, 6-1, 6-1. Clarke Spinosa defeated freshman Chris Haworth, 6-1, 6-4, at the No. 3 spot, while Andrew Carlisle defeated sophomore Brandon Champagne, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 6.
The Cowboys will play in the third place match tomorrow against either Harvard or San Diego State at the Aztec Tennis Center.
