Masson Maintains Lead at Open

CARNOUSTIE, Scotland - Former Oklahoma State golf standout Caroline Masson maintained her spot atop the RICOH Women's British Open after firing a 68 during her third round on Saturday at Carnoustie Golf Links.
Through 54 holes, Masson has a 15-under total of 201 after opening with rounds of 68 and 65. She will take a two-shot lead over top-ranked and defending champion Yani Tseng into tomorrow's final round.
Masson made bookend bogeys at the first and 18th for her only blemishes of the day. The Gladbeck, Germany native carded six birdies en route to her 4-under score. After her opening bogey, Masson made her first birdie of the day at the second and followed with birdies at the fifth and sixth to turn at 2-under 34.
With birdies at Nos. 11, 14 and 17, she moved to 5-under par for the day before closing with a bogey at the par-4 18th.
A pair of former Cowgirls and Sweden natives wrapped up their days tied for 28th place at 214. Linda Wessberg signed for a 75 on Saturday, while Caroline Hedwall's 76 put her among the group at 2-under par.
