CARNOUSTIE, Scotland - Former Oklahoma State standout Caroline Masson fired a 65 during her second round at the RICOH Women's British Open to stand alone in first place through 36 holes at Carnoustie Golf Links.
An honorable mention All-American in 2009 for OSU, Masson's 7-under day moved her to 11-under 133 at the event's midway point. She will begin her third round one shot clear of Inbee Park and Meena Lee.
The Gladbeck, Germany native enjoyed a bogey-free round that included four of her seven birdies on the front nine. After logging her outward 32, she came in with a 3-under 33 total on her back nine.
Former Cowgirl Caroline Hedwall, the NCAA individual champion two years ago, fired her second consecutive 69 to stand in a tie for eighth place, while fellow Swede and former OSU standout Linda Wessberg's second-round 66 has her tied for 12th place.
