Cowgirl Golf Finishes Second In Utah

ST, GEORGE, Utah - Oklahoma State's women's golf team earned a runner-up finish on Tuesday at the BYU Entrada Classic after carding a 303 during the final round at Entrada at Snow Canyon.
The Cowgirls tallied a 54-hole total of 919, 55-over par, to finish five shots behind Wisconsin at the 6,216-yard, par-72 layout. Texas State finished in third place with a 921 total. The showing was the second runner-up finish of the year for head coach Annie Young's squad, which also has one victory to its credit.
New Mexico State's Demi Mak maintained her hold on the top spot on the individual leaderboard, posting a 2-under 70 to finish at 218 and four shots clear of the field.
OSU had a pair of top-10 showings and was led by freshman Jayde Panos, who tied for fourth place. A native of Perth, Australia, Spanos carded her low round of the event to close, firing a 73 to get in at 224. Panos countered a double bogey at the second with birdies at Nos, 1, 4, 5 and 7 to turn at 1-under 35. She came in with a 2-over 38 on her inward nine to earn her top-five finish.
Joining Panos in the top 10 was junior Jocelyn Alford, who tied for eighth place at 228 after carding a 76 during her final round. Sophomore Hillary Wood posted a closing 78 to finish at 235 and tied for 30th, while freshman Lauren Falley's 76 tied her for 37th place at 237.
Freshman Josephine Janson signed for an 80 during her final round to finish at 249 and tied for 64th place.
Competing individually, Eyglo Oskarsdottir posted a third-round 77 to stand at 236 and tied for 34th place.
The Cowgirls will resume their spring slate on April 1 when they travel to Tempe, Ariz., to take part in the Ping/ASU Invitational.
