Cowgirls In 13th In Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team opened its spring season on Monday at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational at The Golf Club at Vistoso.
Monday's opening 36-hole day was suspended due to darkness with only half of the 16-team field completing its first two rounds. With three players yet to finish their first rounds, OSU closed the day in 13th place. Play will resume at 7:45 a.m. (PST) tomorrow with the third round set to begin immediately after the conclusion of Round Two.
The Cowgirls posted an 18-over 306 during their first round to stand in 11th place. California fired a 284 to lead by two over Arizona after 18 holes at the par-72, 6,321-yard layout. The Wildcats will resume play tomorrow with a two-shot lead over the Bears with both teams set to finish their final rounds as well.
Junior Jocelyn Alford opened with a 75 and is 2-over par with three holes to play in her second round, tying her for 26th place.
Playing in her first collegiate tournament, Jayde Panos posted a team-best 74 during her first round and followed with a 76 to stand in a tie for 30th place.
Freshman Josephine Janson posted a first-round 79 and is 4-over with one to play, tying her for 48th place heading into tomorrow's action. Freshman Jade Staggs is 7-over with one to play after opening with a 79 of her own and is tied for 63rd place.
Sophomore Hillary Wood signed for rounds of 78 and 83 to stand in a tie for 73rd.
