Cowgirl Golf In Fifth At Lady Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - Oklahoma State's women's golf team posted a 300 total during its first round at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic on Sunday at Trump International Golf Club to stand in fifth place.
The Cowgirls' 12-over total put them a stroke behind Kent State for fourth place and four shots out of the third-place spot held by Purdue. Georgia held the lead after Day One at the par-72, 6,193-yard layout after carding a 4-over 292.
Purdue's Thea Hoffmeister fired a 66 to pace the individual race.
Freshman Hillary Wood led OSU's starting five with a 73 that tied her for 12th.
Sophomore Caroline Hedwall and freshman Victoria Park each signed for 74s and stand in a tie for 17th place.
Making her first career start, freshman Eyglo Oskarsdottir posted a 70 and is tied for 79th place, while fellow freshman Courtney McKim came in tied for 61st place after a round of 80.
