Cowgirls In 16th at Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team opened its fall finale with a 312 score on Friday to stand in 16th place at The Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall.
OSU's 24-over-par day put them three shots behind Northwestern, Chattanooga and Florida State for 11th place at the par-72, 6,244-yard layout. Duke and Texas both opened with 291 totals to share the first-round lead.
Individually, a trio of players all carded 70s to share the lead. Duke's Kim Donovan, North Carolina State's Caroline Ellington and North Carolina's Katherine Perry all finished at 2-under for the day and sit atop the leaderboard.
OSU junior Jocelyn Alford finished the day in the top 20, posting a 74 to come in tied for 19th place.
Freshman Jade Staggs' 78 tied her for 52nd place, while classmate Josephine Janson finished the day tied for 58th after posting a 79.
Sophomores Victoria Park and Hillary Wood carded 81s to finish tied for 76th place.
The Cowgirls will begin their second round at 8:30 a.m. (EST) and will be grouped with Texas Tech and UNC Greensboro.
