Cowgirl Golf Tied For Third At Conference Challenge

PRIMM, Nev. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team carded a 298 during its second round at the Golfweek Conference Challenge to dip into a tie for third place at Primm Valley Golf Club's Desert Course.
The Cowgirls will begin their final round at the par-72, 6,135-yard layout tied with Pepperdine at 17-over 593. Chattanooga is first at 590 and California is currently second at 592.
OSU's Caroline Hedwall maintained her spot atop the individual leaderboard with an even-par 72. The only player in the field under par, Hedwall will enter tomorrow's final round with a four-shot lead over Chattanooga's Christine Wolf and UC Irvine's Joy Trotter. The Cowgirl sophomore stands at 4-under 140.
On Monday, Hedwall birdied the par-4 third hole before consecutive bogeys at Nos. 5 and 6 to make the turn at 1-over 37. She then sandwiched eight pars around a birdie at the par-5 13th to get back to level par for the day. Through two rounds, the first-team All-American has taken advantage of the back nine, posting four birdies against no bogeys.
Freshman Jane Rah moved into the top 10 after posting a 72 of her own to stand at 2-over 146 and tied for fifth. In just her second round as a Cowgirl, Rah put together a day that featured five birdies.
Freshman Victoria Park followed up her opening 77 with a 74 to move into a tie for 25th at 151. Park stood at 4-over for the day before finishing strong with back-to-back birdies to move back to 2 over for the day.
After posting a 76 during her first round, freshman Courtney McKim signed for an 80 during Round Two and finished the day tied for 41st place at 156.
Freshman Hillary Wood carded an 88 and is in 89th place at 173.
The Cowgirls will begin their final round tomorrow at 8:50 a.m. (PST) and will play with Ohio State and UNLV.
