OSU's inaugural appearance was in the first-ever NCAA Women's Golf Championship in 1982, when the Cowgirls finished third. OSU has 10 top 10s at the tournament, and five top-five finishes. OSU's best performance at the championship came in 2004 when the Cowgirls finished as national runner-up to UCLA in Opelika, Ala. OSU has two third-place finishes, first in 1982 and then again in 1989. In 2004, Karin Sjödin had the highest NCAA Championship finish by a Cowgirl individual as she finished second.
