Cowgirl Golfers Finish Fourth At Bryan National Collegiate

Brown Summit, N.C. - Oklahoma State's eighth-ranked Cowgirl golf team finished fourth at the Bryan National Collegiate here this weekend, shooting a three-round score of 894. Senior Emma Zackrisson tied for sixth with a seven-over-par 219.
Duke won the team title with an 18-under-par 870, outscoring second-place Georgia by 12 strokes. Ohio State finished third with an 885, while OSU shot an 894. Furman shot a team-best 287 during the final round and moved up to fifth place with an 898.
Viranda Nirapathpongporn of Duke won the individual title in a two-hole sudden death playoff over Georgia's Angela Jerman. Both golfers finished with a five-under-par 211. Zackrisson shot a 219 for the Cowgirls, while Linda Wessberg tied for 12th with a 223 score for OSU. Freshman Annie Thurman carded a 227 for the tournament and tied for 28th, while junior Christi Cano tied for 42nd with a 230. Jenny Karr rounded out the Cowgirl golfers with a 232, tying for 51st place.
Oklahoma State will take off two weeks before returning to action in the Big 12 Championships, slated for April 19-21, in Manhattan, Kan.
