Cowgirl Golf Tied For 12th After First Round

Auburn, Wash. - Oklahoma State's Cowgirl Golf team is tied for 12th place after the first round of the NCAA Fall Preview here Monday afternoon, trailing first-place Tennessee by 11 strokes. Ohio State is in second place, one stroke behind the Volunteers at 294. USC, Arizona State and Auburn round out the top five teams.
Junior Linda Wessberg is tied for 12th with a one-over-par 73. Junior Christi Cano and senior Emma Zackrisson are both three-over at 75 and tied for 29th. Freshmen Annie Thurman and Jennifer Karr round out the Cowgirl scorers.
The tournament will continue on Tuesday with another round of 18 holes, and conclude on Wednesday with a final round of 18. The tournament serves as a preview of next spring's NCAA Championships, which will be held on the same course.
