Vanessa Shippy is entering her first season on the coaching staff with the Oklahoma State softball program, serving as the volunteer assistant coach after four memorable years on the field as a Cowgirl from 2015-2018.

As a player, Shippy earned All-America honors three times, joining Jaime Foutch as the only other Cowgirl to receive the honor on three occasions. Shippy is also the only Cowgirl to be named an Academic All-American three times.

During her time at OSU, Shippy was named the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2016 and 2018, making her only the third player in league history to achieve that feat. She finished her career with an impressive .404/.532/.585 slash line, while breaking multiple school records.

Shippy played in the National Pro Fastpitch league for one season and served as an assistant coach at Syracuse for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Shippy currently holds the school record for most runs scored (209), doubles (57), on-base percentage (.532), and base on balls (177).
