Cowgirl Softball’s Martin to serve on NCAA Division I Softball Oversight Committee
November 11, 2025 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Senior Associate Athletic Director and Cowgirl Softball Sport Administrator Jesse Martin has been named to the NCAA Division I Softball Oversight Committee.
The newly formed committee consists of 18 members who will have authority over the sport's rules and legislation as well as oversee the NCAA Division I Softball Championship. Martin is also one of 10 members who serve on the subcommittee tasked with selecting, seeding, and bracketing the NCAA WCWS.
"It's an honor to represent Oklahoma State and the Big 12 Conference on the Division I Softball Oversight Committee," Martin said. "The growth of the game at every level has been remarkable, and I'm excited for the opportunity to continue serving a sport that means so much to our university, our state, and our fans."
Martin continues a four-year term that began in 2024, when he was appointed to the NCAA Division I Softball Committee.
Martin has served in various capacities for OSU Athletics since arriving in Stillwater in 2006. In his current role as the sport administrator for Cowgirl Softball, he's aided the program in its rise to national prominence, overseeing numerous fan-based initiatives that help the Cowgirls set new attendance records every year.
"It's a great honor for Jesse," OSU head coach Kenny Gajewski said. "Through the hard work he's done on the selection committee previously, he was able to parlay that into this opportunity with the oversight committee, which will no doubt benefit our conference and our team. He's somebody who truly cares about the game of softball, and I have high confidence that he will do what's in the best interest of our game across the country."
Prior to his arrival in Stillwater, Martin worked with the Mississippi Sea Wolves in the East Coast Hockey League, where he was named the 2004 ECHL Ticket Executive of the Year and served as general manager in 2005.
Martin is the only representative from the Big 12 Conference on the committee.
