Senior Season (2016-17)
• Broke the Oklahoma State career 3-point records with 329 makes and 832 attempts from deep.
• Scored 1,792 career points, which ranks sixth in Oklahoma State history.
• NCAA Statistical Champion for 2016-17 with a free throw percentage of 95.5 percent.
• Finished his career with a free-throw percentage of 88.3 percent, which ranks second in school history.
• Shot an astonishing 48.1 percent from 3-point in Big 12 play, which trailed only Frank Mason III of Kansas (50.0 percent) and ranked second in OSU history. That upped his career 3-point mark in Big 12 games to 40.6 percent, which tied for third best among OSU players.
• Played in 135 career games for OSU, which trails only Bryant Reeves (136) and Byron Eaton (136) in program history.
• Posted 95 career double-digit scoring games (25 as a senior), which ranks fifth in OSU history.
• Shot a remarkable 40.6 percent from 3-point in Big 12 games as a senior, which ties for the third-best mark ever by a Cowboy.
• His 926 points in Big 12 games rank behind only Le’Bryan Nash (1,026) and Markel Brown (969).
• Finished his career seventh in OSU history with 164 career steals.
• Racked up 24 career 20-point scoring games, which ranks 11th among Cowboys all-time.
• Broke the program’s all-time 3-point record with a catch-and-shoot look from the left corner against Arkansas. That shot made him the first Cowboy to hit 300 career 3-pointers.
• Hit the Bedlam game-winning 3-pointer with just 11 seconds remaining in Norman.
• Was named honorable mention All-Big 12 as a senior, which was his third career Big 12 postseason honor.
• As a senior, Forte hit 85 3-pointers – seventh-most by a Cowboy – on 41.7 percent, which ranked fifth among all Big 12 players.
• Went 11-of-11 from the stripe against Central Arkansas, which tied for the third best performance by a Big 12 player this season.
• Went 9-of-11 from the floor against Iowa State for 24 points, which tied for the best shooting performance from the floor by a player in a Big 12 game that season.
• Senior captain that helped lead OSU back to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in his career.
• Played at least 30 minutes in each of the year’s final 21 games, and ended his career with 3,993 minutes (29.6 per game).
2015-16 Season (Redshirt Senior Year)
• Preseason All-Big 12 Honorable mention.
• Earned his Bachelor's degree in Recreational Management.
• Suffered a season-ending elbow injury in the third game of the season and missed the remainder of the year.
• 100th appearance in a Cowboys uniform in the season opener, and dropped in a game-high 24 points.
• Had played in 102 straight games since arriving on campus in 2012-13 before injuring his elbow against Towson.
2014-15 (Junior Season)
• Third-Team All-Big 12 selection.
• Named to the Second-Team Academic All-Big 12
• Averaged a career-high 15.0 points per game, which ranked fourth among all Big 12 players.
• Knocked down 84.0 percent of his free throw attempts, which was second in the Big 12 only to Kyan Anderson of TCU (87.0 percent), and ranked 20th in OSU history.
• Led the Cowboys and ranked in the Big 12 with 33.7 minutes played per game.
• Tied for third in the Big 12 and 51st nationally with 1.88 steals per contest.
• Piled up a career-high 32 points in the win over North Texas.
• Now has 18 games with at least 20 points in his Cowboy career.
• Ranked third in the league with 2.19 3-pointers made per game, and his 38.0 percent clip was seventh.
• Ranked among the top three in the Big 12 in 3-pointers made, 3-pointers attempted and free throws made.
• Shot 42.4 percent from the floor, which ranked ninth among all Big 12 players who made at least four shots per game.
• Racked up 60 steals, which ranks 21st in Cowboy history and 60th nationally. His 1.88 steals per game rank 22nd among all OSU players.
• 184 three-pointers attempted in 2014-15 rank 17th Oklahoma State history.
• Made 31 straight free throws over a seven-game stretch during Big 12 play – the seventh longest free throw streak in school history.
• Tied for ninth in OSU history with an 85.7 free throw percentage in Big 12 play as a junior.
• 42.5 percent shooting from 3-point in Big 12 play ranks seventh in OSU history, and his 2.06 makes per league game ranks 11th.
• Tied for 9th in OSU history with an 85.7 percent clip from the free throw line in Big 12 play in 2014-15.
2013-14 (Sophomore season)
• Was named the first-ever Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year, sharing honors with Oklahoma's Ryan Spangler.
• Was a first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection as well as a CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 honoree.
• Made 31 of his first 32 free-throw attempts to start the season, including his first 16 to extend his streak of consecutive free-throws made to 43, tying the school record.
• His streak of consecutive free-throws made ended at 43 with his first miss of the season vs Purdue; tied for the longest streak in school history (Joe Smith also had 43 straight in 1967).
• Was a perfect 6-of-6 from three-point range at Oklahoma, the highest number of perfect attempts in a single game in school history.
• Had nine games of 20 points or more, inlcuding three straight in late February (at Baylor, vs Texas Tech, at TCU).
• Scored a season-high 23 points on three occasions: at Kansas, at TCU and vs Kansas State in Stillwater.
• In the game at KU, hit a career-best 7 of 10 treys.
• Finished the season ranked 14th nationally in three-point percentage at 44.1% and 24th in the country in three-pointers made per game (2.94).
• Ranked second in the Big 12 for free-throw percentage (86.9%), as well as second in both three-point field-goal percentage (44.1%) and three-point field goals made per game (2.9).
• Recorded a career-best five steals vs West Virginia.
• Grabbed a career-high five rebounds against the Jayhawks in Lawrence.
• Played just four minutes against Memphis after suffering from illness.
• Shared team scoring honors with 22 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
• Was 6-of-7 (85.7%) from long range vs the Lions, tied for the sixth-best single-game shooting performance from beyond the arc in school history.
• Made SportsCenter's top play with his alley-oop toss to Markel Brown vs UAPB on Nov. 15.
2012-13 (Freshman season)
• Established a school record for three-pointers made by a freshman with 68; previous record was 67 by James Anderson.
• Ended the season making 27 straight free throws, tied for the seventh-longest string in school history.
• Had just 16 turnovers in 835 minutes of court time, an average of less than 0.77 TOs per 40 minutes, a school record.
• Finished 54 of 59 (.915) from the line in Big 12 action, leading the league and the fifth-highest by a Big 12 player in the 17-year history of the conference.
• Reached double figures 17 times, including two 20-point games.
• Scored a career-high 26 points against West Virginia, connecting on 6-of-11 threes and 6-of-6 on free throws; also had a career-best four assists.
• His 26 points tied for the fourth-most ever off the bench by a Cowboy.
• Recorded 22 points, including six treys, against Tennessee Tech.
• Hit six three-pointers in a game on two occasions, tied for the third-most ever by a Cowboy off the bench.
• His streak of consecutive games with a three pointer ended at 12 when he went 0-of-3 from beyond the arc at Kansas State.
• Scored 17 points against sixth-ranked N.C. State, including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc.
• Scored 13 points, including three three-pointers, in his first action at the collegiate level vs UC Davis.
Summer of 2012
• Started for Team Texas and scored 17 points while recording a game-high six steals in a 107-80 win over Team Oklahoma in the Faith 7 game held on the OBU campus in Shawnee.
• Scored 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc playing for the Black squad in the Derby Classic in Louisville, Ky.; also had three assists and two steals in the game.
• Won the three-point shootout at the Kentucky Derby Basketball Classic, defeating Louisville's Terry Rozier in the finals.
• Won the second-annual National High School 3-Point Championship, defeating Creighton's Isaiah Zierden in the finals.
High School
• Was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2012 Texas Class 5A State Tournament, averaging 17 points in two contests, including a game-high 24 in the championship game.
• Named first-team All-State for Class 5A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches in 2012.
• Was a two-time first-team All-Region I selection for Class 5A in 2011 and `12.
• Averaged 14.9 points and 3.1 three-pointers per game his senior season.
• Led his team to a 39-2 record and a second-straight Class 5A title.
• Flower Mound Marcus was ranked No. 2 nationally according to MaxPreps Xcellent 25 presented by the Army National Guard.
• The Marauders were ranked No. 5 in the final POWERADE Fab 50 national high school team rankings.
• Averaged 16.8 points and 3.7 treys per game as a junior.
• Connected on five three-pointers in the regional final against Cedar Hill, sending the Marauders to the state tournament.
• Averaged 14.9 points per game as a sophomore, connecting on 93 treys in 31 games.
• Scored 20 points in the 2010 state semifinals against Fort Bend Bush, connecting on 6-of-7 three-pointers; Marcus lost in overtime 45-43.
• Averaged 14.2 points in five career state Final Four games.
• Flower Mound Marcus was 115-6 over the past three seasons.
• Was ranked the No. 76 player in the country by HoopScoop and the No. 17 shooting guard.
• Was a three-star recruit according to Rivals.com.
• Chose OSU over interest from Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa, USC and Villanova.
Summer Ball
• Scored 19 points in the title game of the 2010 Great American Shoot-Out, connecting on five three-point shots; also won the 2011 GASO.
• Scored 20 points in the championship game of the 2011 Adidas Super 64, defeating UCLA signee Shabazz Muhammad and his team Dream Vision 93-78.
Personal
• Born April 27, 1993, Phil is the son of Phil, Sr., and Julie Forte. He has a sister, Courtney. Phil played football through middle school and also enjoys playing tennis in his spare time. His father played football for Kansas.
