Busy week on the road for Cowgirl Softball

The Basics
The No. 21/21 Oklahoma State softball team (21-10 overall, 4-5 Big 12) hits the road for a midweek contest against Tulsa (10-19 overall, 2-7 American) at 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday before heading to Salt Lake City for a three-game Big 12 weekend series at Utah (24-8 overall; 4-2 Big 12). Friday and Saturday's contests are set for 6 p.m. CT, with the series finale set for noon CT Sunday.

Oklahoma State is ranked No. 21 in the GoRout/NFCA Coaches Poll. The ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 ranks the Cowgirls at No. 21, while Softball America has the Pokes at No. 23 and D1Softball has OSU at No. 20. In the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI), the Cowgirls are No. 28.
Tulsa and Utah are both unranked.
The Cowgirls were picked to finish second in the Big 12 Conference with one first-place vote in a poll by the league's head coaches.

Following an impressive nonconference showing, Oklahoma State is seeking some consistency after dropping two of its first three Big 12 series,
The Cowgirls hold seven wins over ranked opponents and nine run-rule wins on the season, which was tied for the most through the first 21 games in program history. OSU averages 6.7 runs per game, which would set a new program record if the season ended today.
Veterans Claire Timm, Audrey Schneidmiller, Amanda Hasler, Tia Warsop, Rosie Davis and Karli Godwin have all been productive offensively, with Timm and Schneidmiller on pace for the best seasons of their respective careers. Davis and Hasler have combined for 26 extra-base hits and 62 RBIs. Freshmen Aubrey Jones and Jayelle Austin have made immediate impacts, with Jones second on the team in batting average and Austin ranking among the team leaders in several categories, including home runs, extra base hits, runs scored, walks, stolen bases and more. Defensively, Virginia Tech transfer Jayden Jones has been a standout.
Two-time All-American Ruby Meylan ranks in the top 10 among all active players in career pitching appearances (142), innings pitched (630.0) and strikeouts (701). This season, she leads the Big 12 in innings pitched (116.2) and strikeouts (120). Senior RyLee Crandall and freshman Preslee Downing have combined to go 10-3.
