Five-run seventh inning lifts Cowgirls past Tulsa, 10-7
March 25, 2026 | Cowgirl Softball
TULSA, Okla. – Karli Godwin's second home run of the game was the centerpiece of a five-run seventh inning that pushed the No. 21/21 Oklahoma State softball team to a 10-7 win over Tulsa at the Collins Family Softball Complex Wednesday.
The Cowgirls (22-10 overall) entered the seventh inning trailing 6-5, but Claire Timm led off the inning with a deep fly ball that sent Tulsa center fielder Mackenzy Glenn crashing into the wall in a failed attempt to make a play. With the ball rolling away from Glenn, Timm advanced to third. Freshman Gabby Castillo brought Timm home with a game-tying single to center. Two batters later, Rosie Davis doubled Castillo home to give the Cowgirls the lead. Amanda Hasler was then hit by a pitch to set up Godwin's game-winning three-run homer to left.
Ruby Meylan (12-6) earned the win in relief, allowing one earned run and striking out six over 4 1/3 innings after entering in the third inning for RyLee Crandall. Brinly Maples started in the circle for Tulsa (10-20) before Maura Moore took over in the fifth inning and was charged with the loss.
Oklahoma State jumped out to an early lead in the first inning when Hasler hit her ninth home run of the season, a two-run shot that made it 2-0.
Tulsa answered with five consecutive runs across the second and third innings to take a 5-2 advantage.
Godwin halted the surge with a home run, and Davis tied the game in the next inning with a two-run blast of her own.
Tulsa regained the lead in the sixth inning thanks to a pair of OSU errors, but the Cowgirls' offensive explosion in the seventh decided the game.
Oklahoma State returns to action with a weekend series at Utah. First pitch of game one is set for 6 p.m. CT Friday.
