Legendary Coach James Wadley Returns to Cowboy Tennis Staff

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State's men tennis team has added the winningest coach in program history, James Wadley, to the 2026 staff as an assistant coach it was announced today.
"It is with great honor and privilege that we welcome back Oklahoma State's longest tenured head coach, ITA Hall of Famer and Oklahoma Hall of Honor inductee, coach James Wadley to our Cowboy Tennis family," head coach Dustin Taylor said. "Coach Wadley brings 40 years of head coaching experience where he was the pioneer in so many ways to include international recruiting and a program builder known for being ahead of the times."
The McAlester, Oklahoma, native now enters his 41st season as a coach and will be a valued member of the Cowboy Tennis coaching staff, joining Max Stewart as an assistant coach.
Wadley led the Cowboys as head coach from 1973-2012, making him the longest tenured coach in OSU Athletics history. His accolades are unmatched and countless, netting 662 wins, 12 conference tournament championships, four NCAA Sweet 16 appearances and nine ITA All-Americans. He was inducted to the ITA Men's Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame in 2014 and named Big 12 Coach of the Year in 2007.
"Coach Wadley is and always will be Cowboy Tennis," Taylor said. "And we are so excited and grateful to welcome him back."
