Cowboy Tennis Closes Out ITA All-American Championships

Tulsa, Okla. - Oklahoma State's men's tennis team closed out play at the ITA All-American Championships this week in Tulsa.

Ian Bracks led the way for the Cowboys, as he did at the UTR Tulsa event the week prior. The sophomore and Tulsa native took on Dartmouth's Henry Ren in the opening round of the tournament, taking him down in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.Â

Bracks battled in his round of 128 matchup against the overall No. 12 seed Santiago Giamichelle. The Cowboy took the first set, but dropped sets two and three to Giamichelle, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Thomas Gadecki and Nicolas Kobelt made trips to Tulsa as well and both fell in their opening round matchups. Gadecki dropped a tight match to Arizona State's Niels Villard, 6-4, 6-4, while Kobelt took Mississippi State's Roberto Guimaraes to three sets but couldn't close it out, 1-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Gadecki and Bracks returned for the doubles portion of the championships. They opened play with a match against Auburn's Nicholas Heng and Joseph Phillips, where they would fall in a tight match that went the distance to a third-set tiebreaker, 3-6, 7-6 (5), 10-8.

The Cowboys will return on Sep. 29 for the UTR PTT Norman in Norman, Oklahoma.Â
