Cowboy Tennis Downs Abilene Christian, 6-1

WACO, Texas – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team got back on the winning track, defeating Abilene Christian, 6-1, in a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon at the Watkins Tennis Center.
The win improves the Cowboys to 8-12 overall, while the loss drops the Wildcats to 11-10. Oklahoma State is now 3-0 all-time against ACU. Additionally, the victory was the Cowboys' sixth-straight win over a non-conference opponent.
OSU claimed the opening point of the afternoon in doubles action, as Nicolas Kobelt and Finn Hopfe defeated Merse Deli and Dennis Dutine, 6-1, and Ian Bracks and Thomas Gadecki bested Ethan Scribner and Alejandro Verdacaso, 6-3.
OSU's No 107 Becroft made quick work of his match on court one, taking down Morozov, 6-1, 6-2, for the captain's seventh win of the season.
Gadecki picked up his first win since Feb. 22 after a 6-1, 6-4 win on court five to push the match to the brink.
Bracks clinched the match for the Cowboys, defeating Merse Deli, 6-1, 6-2. Bracks joins Derek Pham with a double-digit win total on the year.
After the match was clinched, Ben Stecker picked up a 6-2, 7-5 win over Tomas Tischner for his fifth win in his last six completed matches.
Derek Pham picked up the final point of the afternoon, defeating Dutine, 6-4, 6-7 (4), 1-0 (4). Pham trailed 4-1 in the tiebreak before rallying with nine-straight points to win the match.
Matei Onofrei dropped OSU's only match of the night in a 10-point tiebreaker.
OSU concludes its five-match road trip against No. 16 Baylor tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the Hurd Tennis Center.
