Cowgirl Equestrian Set For NCEA Championships

The Basics
Oklahoma State equestrian will look to claim its second NCEA title in four years as it travels to Ocala, Florida, this week at the World Equestrian Center. The three-seeded Cowgirls are slotted to face sixth-seeded Texas A&M on Thursday, April 17. Should the Cowgirls defeat the Aggies, they'll move on to face the winner between Auburn and Georgia. The Cowgirls are coming off winning the programs fifth-straight and 11th overall Big 12 title. The NCEA Championship will have live scoring available throughout the week, and will be streamed on ClipMyHorse.
About the Cowgirls                                                           Â
Head coach Larry Sanchez, in his 26th year at the helm, leads the Cowgirls alongside sixth-year assistant Laura Brainard, third-year assistant Carter Anderson, second-year assistant Alle Durkin and assistant Jody Brainard.
Conference Leaders                                                      Â
The Cowgirls went 5-3 against Big 12 opponents this season, including two wins on their way to the program's first ever conference championship five-peat. With 11 total conference championships, OSU has the most conference titles out of anyone in the NCEA.

The Cowgirls had seven NCEA All-American selections this season. Five of OSU's selections were on the Western side, the most of any team in the country. These additions bring OSU's total to 82 All-Americans in program history.Â

Who to Watch                                                       Â
- Senior Riley Hogan picked up 22 total wins this season. She has 67 combined career wins and sits third place in OSU history for combined career wins. She also has 42 career Fences wins, the most in Cowgirl history. She earned the Big 12 tournament MOP for the Fences event. Hogan was named the Big 12 Fences Co-Rider of the Year and the Big 12 Flat Rider of the Year.
- Claire McDowall has an 8-5-1 record and earned her five MOPs this season. She currently sits at fifth place in OSU history for Horsemanship wins. Her season-long performances earned her a third consecutive All-American selection.
- June Roberson leads OSU's Western squad with 11 wins this season in Horsemanship. Roberson's 11 wins and high point totals helped her secure a spot as an NCEA All-American on the first-team, the first honor of her career. Â
- Sophomore Emma FIliatreau has made a name for herself as a prolific scorer in Reining. She went 10-4 this season, being named a two-time Big 12 Rider of the Month and NCEA Rider of the Month. She also earned a career-high 74.5 score against Fresno State.Â
- Quincee Clark and Abby Budd both collected nine wins on the season in Reining. They both earned spots on the NCEA All-American teams for Reining. Clark was named the Big 12 Rider of the Month in October.
