Cowboys First with One Session Remaining at Big 12 Championships

TULSA, Okla. – The Oklahoma State wrestling team wrapped up the third session of the 2025 Big 12 Wrestling Championships in first place Sunday and it has a conference-best six wrestlers competing in tonight's finals.
The Cowboys have 149.5 team points with one session remaining and lead second-place Northern Iowa by 12 points. UNI has four finalists and no other team has more than two.
Sunday's first session included three Cowboys, as Teague Travis, Caleb Fish and Cameron Amine each started in the consolation semifinal round.
Travis knocked off South Dakota State's Avery Allen, 3-0, to reach the 149-pound third-place match and clinch an automatic berth to the national tournament. Fish then earned his first pin of the year in a victory over Wyoming's Jared Hill for shot at third place at 157 pounds. Amine nearly made it three-for-three but fell in a tight match the top-seeded Terrell Barraclough of Utah Valley, 2-1.
Amine would go on to claim a win via medical forfeit in the 165-pound fifth-place match, while Travis and Fish each dropped decisions in their next bout to finish in fourth place.
OSU's finalists tonight include Troy Spratley (125 pounds), Tagen Jamison (141), Dean Hamiti Jr. (174), Dustin Plott (184), Luke Surber (197) and Wyatt Hendrickson (heavyweight).
Plott and Hendrickson are each appearing in a fourth consecutive Big 12 final. Hendrickson tries for his third title after winning the 2022 and 2023 heavyweight titles at Air Force while Plott tries for his third after winning at 174 pounds in 2022 and 2023.
It marks the third straight year for Hamiti to reach a conference final, as he was a Big Ten champion in 2023 and Big Ten runner up in 2024.
Spratley and Surber both make their second career appearance in the Big 12 finals, with Spratley finishing runner up as a freshman last season and Surber finishing as the heavyweight runner up in 2022.
Jamison will wrestle in the first conference final of his career.
There are now nine Cowboy wrestlers who have secured their bid to the 2025 NCAA Championships, while Reece Witcraft will have to earn an at-large bid at 133 pounds to reach the tournament.
