March 25, 2025 | Cowgirl Golf
Fort Worth, Texas – The 28th-ranked Oklahoma State women's golf team closed out the Charles Schwab Invitational in 12th place at Colonial Country Club while sophomore Marta Silchenko finished in a tie for ninth.
Silchenko, returning from an injury this fall, had her best finish as part of the lineup this season and the second best showing of her career with a tie for ninth. She was one of 10 golfers in the 75-golfer field who finished the tournament at or under par, finishing at even for the week. On her way to a ninth-place finish, she defeated 25 golfers ranked in the top 100 collegiately.
The tough conditions got the better of the Pokes leading to a 12th-place finish. The Cowgirls finished 34-over, but placed ahead of No. 5 USC, No. 43 Kentucky and Big 12 rival Baylor. The stacked field featured 11 top 25 teams and five top 10 teams, including No. 1 Stanford who won the team title shooting even for the week.
Freshman Summer Lee finished in 45th, shooting 10-over for the week, while fellow freshman Tarapath Panya closed out the week in a tie for 56th. 28th-ranked golfer Grace Kilcrease finished 11-over but had the second-best par 5 scoring for the tournament, shooting 4-under on par 5s this week. Ellie Bushnell rounded things out for the Cowgirls, placing 75th.
The Cowgirls will take two weeks off before heading back to the lone star state for the Veritex Bank Collegiate in Dallas on April 7-8.
