Cowboy Tennis Falls to Texas Tech

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's men's tennis team dropped the finale of its three-match homestand to Texas Tech, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon at the Greenwood Tennis Center.Â

The win improves the Red Raiders to 11-6 overall and 2-1 in the Big 12, while the loss drops the Cowboys to 7-9 and 1-1 in the league.Â

Tied at three, all eyes turned to court six's match between OSU's Ben Stecker and Texas Tech's Sebastian Abboud. In a three-set, back-and-forth match, Abboud clinched the win for the Red Raiders with a 6-7 (9), 6-1, 7-5 victory.Â

In the loss, Oklahoma State's Derek Pham won his ninth-straight match, defeating Tyler Stewart, 7-6 (1), 7-5. Pham leads the Cowboys in wins with 11.Â

No. 87 Isaac Becroft and Ian Bracks also picked up wins for the Cowboys, as Becroft defeated Piotr Pawlak, 6-3, 6-2, and Bracks took down Thiago Guglieri, 6-3, 6-4.Â

The Red Raiders took the doubles point to open the match. On court one, Abboud and Pawlak bested No. 58 Alessio Basile and Nicolas Kobelt, 6-4, and Niksa Arsic and Guglieri defeated Thomas Gadecki and Bracks, 6-4.
